On point

March 2020.

Welcome to your March On Point. This month we’re highlighting the big news from last week’s ENGAGE 2020 conference, our annual showcase event for advisers.

In her keynote address our CEO Nadine Tereora set out our business transformation strategy. In a nutshell, by 2025 our aim is to provide simple solutions, accessible to all New Zealanders, under a trusted New Zealand brand.

2020’s another huge year for Fidelity Life as we continue to transform into a customer-centric business - and advisers will continue to be key partners for us moving forwards.

So that’s why advisers were the first - after our staff - to hear these three really exciting announcements:

  • Refreshed brand
  • Sharecare
  • Customer Engagement 2020

It was awesome to see advisers’ respond so positively when Nadine unveiled our refreshed brand at ENGAGE 2020 - we hope you like it as much as we do! You’ll notice On Point’s got a new look and so does Adviser Hub – and we’ll be updating product material and other communications over the coming months.

Why change?

One of the key elements of our strategy is our brand - it needs to appeal to the customers we want to target moving forwards and, most importantly, build trust.

While we want to retain the good things we’re known for, such as being a New Zealand company, having integrity and doing the right thing, our research clearly showed a need for change.

We need to shift from a brand that feels ‘corporate’, has low consumer awareness and doesn’t differ greatly from our competitors; to a brand that has broad appeal (especially to consumers), is aligned to our strategy and stands out as distinctive in the market.

What the new look means

We’re all about protecting your way of life. Our refreshed identity reflects our New Zealand-ness and shows we’re proud to be a New Zealand company. We’ve taken inspiration from nature and the people of New Zealand.

Stand by for Sharecare

Shortly we’ll be launching Sharecare - an award-winning mobile app that helps people easily manage their health in one place and live longer, better lives.

Whether pursuing goals like eating better, reducing stress, or managing a chronic condition, Sharecare supports people in taking control of their health. The journey begins with the RealAgeTM test, Sharecare’s proprietary and clinically validated assessment which calculates a person’s actual age based on lifestyle factors and key indicators for health risks.

We want all our customers to benefit, regardless of the type or amount of cover they have. So that’s why it will be independent of their policies and premiums. Entering a Fidelity Life policy or agency number during sign up will unlock a broader range of features for free.

From early April we’re giving you advance access so you can give it a try ahead of your customers - and as usual we’ll let you know all the details before we contact them.

What’s in it for you and your customers?

  • Tap into the growing focus on health and wellbeing
  • Give customers something tangible back from their life insurer
  • Boost your engagement with customers
  • Drive loyalty and retention

And the good news is Sharecare runs its own customer support team, taking the pressure off you.

Customer Engagement 2020

We’re delighted to announce this exciting new initiative for advisers - and the first of its type focused on recognising good customer outcomes.

Our aim is to lead the market in working alongside advisers to deliver good customer outcomes.

Quick licensing reminder

As the largest NZ-owned and operated life insurer and three-time Life Insurance Company of the Year, we’re constantly looking to add more value to your business. In particular we’ll continue to invest in supporting your transition to the new financial advice regime.

From this week – we’ll be in touch with a short questionnaire about how you want your agency structures set up on our systems so we can continue paying you.

Remember 24 April – if you intend to apply for a FAP transitional licence we believe you need to have started your application process by 24 April to be reasonably comfortable of being ready to go for 29 June.

As always, I want to personally thank you for your support - we really appreciate it.

These are exciting times for Fidelity Life and we’re looking forward to continuing to provide you with a strong proposition so we can secure a sustainable and successful future for your business and ours - with our customers at the centre of everything we do.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to drop the team a line.
