Fidelity Life promotes internal talent to Executive table.

Media release

3 April 2023

Recently appointed Fidelity Life Acting CEO Ian Clancy has announced two temporary appointments to his Executive team while he fills in to lead the country’s largest locally owned life insurer.

Head of Delivery Ruth Goldwater will be Acting Chief Operating Officer, replacing Ian while he’s Acting CEO, and Head of People Performance Jacqui Allwright becomes Acting Chief People Officer.

The new ‘Acting’ Executive roles are effective from today, for a period of six months.

Ian says it’s a huge benefit to have strong internal leaders who can step up quickly, ensuring a seamless transition and maintaining momentum.

“The next six months are crucial as several of our key projects near their conclusion, and we continue investing in our people at a time when skilled talent is in short supply. Both Ruth and Jacqui have been integral in driving our transformation programme forward and I look forward to their experience, perspectives and diversity of thought being added to the Executive team.”

Ruth joined Fidelity Life in November 2021 and is accountable for the delivery of Fidelity Life’s transformation portfolio, including the Westpac Life integration and IFRS-17 compliance programme.

Jacqui has been leading Fidelity Life’s people function for 12 months and has modernised the company’s people experience, including its employee engagement programme, talent development framework and health and safety management plan. She is currently leading the rollout of a new HRIS platform.
