Fidelity Life hires global data specialist in Head of Data and Analytics role.

New Zealand’s largest locally owned life insurer Fidelity Life has appointed Giselle Baker as Head of Data and Analytics following her return to New Zealand after more than 20 years overseas.

Giselle brings strong technical and leadership skills, coupled with a great understanding of regulatory reporting, having spent more than 10 years in the financial services sector.

Chief Financial Officer Simon Pennington says it’s an exciting time to be welcoming someone of Giselle’s calibre to the business, as the company has several data-led projects currently underway.

“Giselle’s experience in leading and developing advanced analytics and reporting for some of the world’s biggest consulting and financial services entities will be invaluable as our new data platform nears completion. Under Giselle’s leadership, our Data and Analytics team will deliver improved insights for the entire business and ultimately help us fulfil our purpose to give New Zealanders certainty to enjoy a more rewarding life.”

Prior to joining Fidelity Life, Giselle was Director, Data and Analytics at FTI Consulting, and Senior Vice President, Global Management Information (MI) and Data Analytics at Citigroup where she led the automation of the bank’s Internal Audit reporting systems and self-service analytics capability.
