In November 2024, we announced a new product, Specific injury cover, and product enhancements to lump sum across our covers, designed to deliver greater value, choice and accessibility across all life stages - new life, through life, and end of life.
Helping you and your clients to partner with Fidelity Life.
We’ve listened and researched the market to bring more enhancements to our existing lump sum covers and introduce a new Specific injury cover. These enhancements give us a market leading product range for life insurance in New Zealand.

What's new.
New Specific injury cover.
- Now available to customers, a simple low-cost optional cover with Specific injury cover. It helps provide extra financial relief if the insured person suffers a specific injury that disrupts their daily life. It pays out a lump sum where the insured person suffers any one of the 30 defined specific injuries as a result of an accident.
Enhancements to lump sum across our covers.
- To support young families welcoming new lives, we’ve made our Trauma and Life covers more accessible. The entry eligibility for our Inbuilt child’s trauma benefit has been reduced from two years to three months, allowing more families to receive early protection. We’re also introducing a new inbuilt benefit for newborns diagnosed with specific conditions at birth.
- Whether your customers are young or older, it’s vital that they know their cover is comprehensive and clear. That’s why we’ve refined our condition definitions for clarity and introduced Terminal Illness as a defined condition across our trauma range, including cover for children.
- We’re adding support to families at the end of life. Increasing our Bereavement benefit from $15,000 to $25,000, and our Child’s funeral benefit from $3,500 to $15,000 for children aged 10 to 20.
- A new Grief counselling benefit that offers an additional $2,500 to the sum insured, and we’re making it easier for families to access our Financial planning benefit by removing thresholds and extending the claim period.
- We’re also providing increased flexibility, giving customers the option to add Trauma - accelerated & Total and permanent disability to Life cover, upon the occurrence of a special event.
These enhancements have been designed with customers in mind across all life stages —new life, through life, or end of life. We’re here to support every step of the way.
