Sub24 - General Terms and Conditions

  1. These terms and conditions (“General Terms”) apply to all promotions, competitions, discounts and offers (collectively, “Promotions”) provided.
  2. Fidelity Life means Fidelity Life Assurance Company Limited.
  3. By purchasing a Fidelity Life product, you are deemed to have accepted these General Terms and any specific Terms and Conditions for the relevant Promotion (“Specific Terms”) that may apply.
  4. Where relevant, Fidelity Life policy terms, conditions, exclusions and underwriting criteria apply in respect of all eligible policies and covers.
  5. Information on how to enter the relevant Promotion, including any instructions in Fidelity Life advertisements, websites or print media will form part of the terms and conditions for the relevant Promotion. To the extent of any inconsistency with any advertisement, printed material or websites, the General Terms and Specific Terms will prevail.
  6. Fidelity Life will collect, hold and use your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 (as amended, replaced or supplemented from time to time at Fidelity Life’s discretion) (“Privacy Act”) and our Privacy Policy found here.
  7. Fidelity Life reserves the right to use your information where you have entered a Promotion to provide you with communications for promotional and marketing purposes. You can opt out at any time by emailing customerservice@fidelitylife.co.nz.
  8. All decisions made by Fidelity Life in respect of any matters relating to any Promotion and no further correspondence or discussions will be entered into.
  9. Fidelity Life reserves the right to change, suspend or cancel the General Terms or Specific Terms for a Promotion at any time.
  10. Except for liability that may not be excluded by law, Fidelity Life will not be liable for any loss, claim, cost, expense, liability, or injury suffered by any person in any way associated with any Promotion or for any prizes.
  11. All Promotions are bound by the laws of New Zealand and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.

Sub24 Promise

  1. These specific terms and conditions (“Terms”) and Fidelity Life’s General Terms apply to Fidelity Life’s “Sub24 Promise” as set out below.
  2. Subject these Terms, Fidelity Life promises that it will underwrite a new policy of insurance within 24 hours provided that the policy meets the criteria set out under these Terms, or Fidelity Life will send the customer a Prezzy Card in accordance with these Terms (“Sub24 Promise”).
  3. This Sub24 Promise commences at 8.30am on 1 June 2023 and ends at 5.00pm on 30 June 2023 (“Promise Period”).
  4. The 24-hour period will start only when an application (or an email about an e-App) is received into the Fidelity Life Sub24 email inbox (sub24@fidelitylife.co.nz). Emails not sent to the correct inbox will not be eligible for the Promise regardless of otherwise meeting the criteria. The Adviser must ensure emails are referred to the correct inbox and Fidelity Life will not be responsible if they are not.
  5. The 24-hour period for the Sub24 Promise means 24 hours from the time the application is received within the Promise Period (e.g. if received at 3pm on Thursday a decision will be communicated to the Adviser on the policy by 3pm Friday) excluding:
    1. the hours between 5.01pm on Friday and 8.29am on Monday (with any applications received within that timeframe being deemed to have been received on 8.30am Monday); and
    2. any time on a public holiday in New Zealand (with any applications received on that day being deemed to have been received on 8.30am the next working day).
  6. A customer is eligible for the Sub24 Promise if their application meets all of the following criteria (“Criteria”):
    1. The application is for Fidelity Life Platinum Plus & Mortgage Protector product(s) Life, Monthly Mortgage Replacement, Income Protection, Total and Permanent Disability, Trauma and Trauma Multi Accelerated or Standalone insurance;
    2. There are no medical disclosures on the application that require Fidelity’s underwriting team to obtain supplementary information from a third party including, but not limited to, a GP or other medical practitioner;
    3. The application is within the financial and non-medical limits as found within the Fidelity Life Underwriting Guide which can be located in the Adviser Centre.
    4. All required information is provided along with the email sent by the Adviser to Fidelity Life’s Sub24 email address including proof of income, proof of mortgage, notification of payment date; and
    5. All required forms have been provided to Fidelity Life including Direct Debit form/ other payment method form, signed declarations, Advice Replacement Business form (where relevant).
  7. The Sub24 Promise is not applicable for:
    1. Applications for increases on an existing policy
    2. Additional cover/s on an existing policy
    3. Additional lives on an existing policy
    4. Continuation Options (Group Risk and Level Term)
  8. Where telephone underwriting is required on an application, the underwriter will attempt to contact  the customer a maximum of twice within a two-hour period. If the underwriter is not able to make contact with the customer, the application is deemed to no longer meet the Criteria, and will not be eligible for the Sub24 Promise. It will be referred out of the Sub24 channel, to the standard underwriting channel.
  9. If Fidelity Life does not meet the 24 hour timeframe on a policy that meets all Criteria and the Terms, it will send the customer a Prezzy Card to the value of NZ$50 (only) (“Prezzy Card”) . The Prezzy Card will be mailed to the customer’s physical address (as specified in the application) within 10 working days of the application having been approved.
  10. The Prezzy Card is not transferrable nor can it be exchanged for cash or any other benefit.
  11. Fidelity Life is not responsible for any loss or damage to the Prezzy Card which occurs in connection with its transit to the customer.
  12. Fidelity Life reserves the right at our reasonable discretion to exclude particular customers from eligibility for this Promise where we consider that these Terms have not previously been complied with.
  13. We reserve the right to extend, change or terminate the Promise at any time without prior notice.
  14. All standard requirements under a policy must be complied with including the duty of disclosure.
