These terms and conditions (Terms) apply to all nominations made by Advisers for a charitable grant to be made by Fidelity Life Assurance Company Limited (Fidelity Life, we, us or our) as part of the ‘We Support Who You Support’ initiative 2026 (the Initiative).
1. Definitions
1.1 Unless the context otherwise requires, capitalised terms used but not otherwise defined in these Terms have the meaning given to them in the Distribution Agreement.
1.2 In these Terms:
Adviser means a Financial Adviser who has a current in-force Distribution Agreement with Fidelity Life;
Charitable Purpose or Community Benefit shall have the meaning set out in clauses 3.3 and 3.4;
Application Form means the form completed by Advisers to nominate a Qualifying Nominee which can be accessed here: Application Form
Closing Date means 5.00 p.m. on 15 February 2026;
Distribution Agreement means the Fidelity Life distribution agreement which sets out the terms under which Advisers provide distribution services in relation to life insurance products;
Grant means a monetary donation of up to NZD $10,000 which will be awarded by Fidelity Life to selected Qualifying Nominees;
Panel means the committee which shall select which Qualifying Nominees will receive a Grant within the Funding Parameters set out in clause 4 of these Terms;
Personal Information has the meaning given to that term in the Privacy Act 2020 and includes information or an opinion, whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained, from the information or opinion, which is received by a party from any source as a consequence of a nomination made under these Terms;
Privacy Law means the Privacy Act 2020 and all other legislation, principles, directives, orders, codes and policies relating to privacy and/or any Personal Information (including the collection, storage, handling, use and/or processing of Personal Information);
Qualifying Nominee means a nominated organisation which meets the eligibility criteria set out in clauses 3.2 – 3.4 of these Terms; and
Relative in relation to any person, means (a) any parent, child, brother, or sister of that person; or (b) any spouse, civil union partner, or de facto partner of that person; or (c) any parent, child, brother, or sister of a spouse, civil union partner, or de facto partner; or (d) a nominee or trustee for any of the above persons.
2. Purpose of the Initiative
2.1 The ‘We Support Who You Support’ 2026 initiative is a charitable initiative designed by Fidelity Life to provide financial grants to community charitable organisations across New Zealand. The Initiative recognises the involvement of Advisers in their communities and enables them to nominate organisations to be eligible to receive funding.
2.2 Grants will be awarded to selected Qualifying Nominees based on applications submitted by eligible Advisers. All Grants must be used for a Charitable Purpose or Community Benefit within New Zealand.
3. Eligibility Criteria
3.1 To be eligible to make a nomination, an Adviser must:

have a current in-force Distribution Agreement, be engaged by a Financial Advice Provider and be accredited with us during the application period as fit and proper (after appropriate due diligence has been carried out by Fidelity Life);

have no outstanding commission debt owing to Fidelity Life at the time the nomination is made;
-
have no outstanding action items either from a Customer dispute lodged with the Adviser’s or Financial Advice Provider’s disputes resolution provider, or from an audit undertaken by the Financial Markets Authority;
-
not knowingly be currently under investigation by Fidelity Life, the Financial Markets Authority or other regulator, any other product provider, or binding industry group;
-
be able to demonstrate some involvement or connection with their nominated charity or community programme provided they are contributing their time, resources, or governance without any personal or professional monetary or non-monetary benefit; and
-
complete the Application Form which shall be received by Fidelity Life no later than the Closing Date.
3.2 To be eligible as a Qualifying Nominee each nominated organisation must be domiciled in New Zealand and shall have a Charitable Purpose or Community Benefit which provides a public benefit and does not confer private financial gain on any individual, including the nominating Adviser or any Relative of such Adviser.
3.3 For the purposes of clause 3.2, Charitable Purpose or Community Benefit means having as its principal aim one or more of the following:
- any purpose that is charitable under the Charities Act 2005, including but not limited to:
- the relief of poverty
- the advancement of education
- the advancement of religion
- other purposes beneficial to the community
- the promotion of education, including the advancement of scientific research, knowledge, literature, and the arts, where such activities are accessible to the public or a sufficient section of the community.
- the relief of poverty, promotion of health, and wellbeing, including mental and physical health initiatives that serve the public.
- the promotion of amateur sport, provided it is conducted on a non-commercial basis and contributes to community engagement and wellbeing.
- the advancement of environmental protection or improvement, including sustainability initiatives and conservation efforts.
- the promotion of civic responsibility, volunteering, and community development, including support for vulnerable or underrepresented groups.
- any other purpose that demonstrably benefits the public or a sufficient section of the community.
3.4 Further to clause 3.3, the Charitable Purpose or Community Benefit must provide support within one or more of the following priority categories, each of which shall align with the public benefit criteria set out above:

Māori & Pasifika communities
-
Supporting children and youth
-
Leadership and professional development
-
Organisations experiencing hardship
-
Families in need
-
Improving financial literacy
4. Funding Parameters
4.1 Grants of up to NZD $10,000 will be awarded to selected Qualifying Nominees. A total of up to NZD $50,000 will be made available in Fidelity Life’s complete and unfettered discretion to award Grants to selected Qualifying Nominees with respect to nominations received from Advisers within the retail, group, mid-tier and corporate adviser channels.
4.2 All Grants will be paid directly to the selected Qualifying Nominee and must be used solely for the purpose outlined in the approved application.
4.3 Applications must clearly demonstrate the use of funds for a Charitable Purpose or Community Benefit.
5. Privacy and Consent
5.1 Each Adviser is responsible to obtain the consent of the nominated organisation to use any Confidential Information supplied for the purposes of the application.
5.2 Each selected Qualifying Nominee shall, prior to acceptance of a Grant, provide to Fidelity Life a written confirmation that:
- no monetary or non-monetary benefit from the Grant would be received by or passed to the nominating Adviser or any Relative of the Adviser; and
- they consent to the use of their name and details of the Grant, by Fidelity Life, for promotional purposes including publication on social media.
6. Restrictions
6.1 Applications will not be considered if:
-
the nominated organisation has outstanding accountabilities from previous grants or charitable contributions;
-
the nominated organisation is a large charity which already receives a significant level of funding or charitable contributions from other sources, unless the application is in relation to a smaller unmet need, with clear community benefit;
-
funds are for intended use outside of New Zealand;
-
the nominating Adviser or any Relative of the Adviser will receive any personal or professional monetary or non-monetary benefit from the Grant to the nominated organisation or is a beneficiary or part of a class of beneficiaries of the nominated organisation; or
-
the nominating Adviser has acted fraudulently or behaved in a way that we consider unacceptable having regard to the nature of the Initiative, or has breached any of these Terms, or any term of the Distribution Agreement.
6.2 Applications will not be considered for any funding request which relates to:
- entertainment-related expenses (i.e. alcohol or catering);
- salaries, wages, or ongoing operational costs or overheads of the nominated organisation, unless directly required to impact delivery
- travel related expenses or overseas travel costs, without a direct and clearly demonstrated local/community benefit;
- property acquisition or maintenance, without supporting documentation regarding the tenure or ownership of the property in question; or
- political causes, activism, lobbying, or any activity intended to influence public policy or government decision-making.
6.3 No Adviser or nominated organisation will do anything while participating in the Initiative which would bring or be likely to bring Fidelity Life or our brand into disrepute.
7. Application Process
7.1 Applications open on 5 November 2025 and must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on 15 February 2026.
7.2 Advisers may submit multiple applications, but only one Grant will be awarded per Adviser.
7.3 All applications will be reviewed by the Panel which shall comprise of Fidelity Life representatives.
7.4 Where possible, personally identifiable information will be removed from each application prior to review by the Panel.
7.5 The Panel’s decisions shall be unanimous, are final and are not subject to appeal, subject to Fidelity Life retaining final oversight under clause 9.4.
8. Notification and Grant Distribution
8.1 Selected Qualifying Nominees will be notified before 31-March 2026.
8.2 Fidelity Life will publicly announce the selected Qualifying Nominees.
8.3 Grants will be paid directly to the selected Qualifying Nominees to a bank account in the name of the Qualifying Nominee.
9. General
9.1 By submitting a nomination, the Adviser is deemed to have accepted these Terms and confirms that they have obtained consent from the organisation they are nominating to submit the application.
9.2 Fidelity Life reserves the right in its sole discretion to alter any aspect of the Initiative which includes, but is not limited to, the right to cancel or end the Initiative at any time, for any reason or to change, suspend or cancel these Terms at any time by notice in writing and/or by publication of replacement Terms on its Adviser webpage: https://advisers.fidelitylife.co.nz/we-support-who-you-support/
9.3 Fidelity Life and its legal representatives, directors, agents, employees, contractors and officers and the members of the Panel shall not be liable to any person for any loss, damage or liability of any kind whatsoever suffered directly or indirectly by any person or organisation in connection with or arising from the Initiative.
9.4 Fidelity Life reserves the right to exercise its discretion with respect to all aspects of the Initiative and its decision in all matters will be final. For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in these Terms gives the Panel authority to bind Fidelity Life in any way. If the Panel fails to reach a unanimous agreement, Fidelity Life’s decision shall be final.
9.5 These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and all parties which participate in the Initiative in any capacity shall submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
