You told us that fewer underwriting questions would make your jobs easier, and we heard you. Now, most customers applying for Life and Trauma covers via E-App will answer 47% fewer underwriting questions.*
First announced at Engage 2024, this update is part of our ongoing commitment to acting on your feedback and simplifying your workflow.
These changes are now live, and make for a faster application process for you and your clients.

These changes will apply for customers aged 55 and under, applying for personal cover of:
- Life cover up to $750,000.
- Trauma cover up to $300,000 (or Trauma multi cover up to $600,000).
Getting full and accurate disclosure is key, and our E-App is designed to get answers to the right questions, for the right covers, on the first try. Our Underwriting team will contact your client to get more detail to support their application if needed.

For customers who don’t meet the criteria for simplified underwriting, their journey remains unchanged – except for the adjustments we've made to the base questions in recent months. We’ll continue to monitor volumes, disclosures and claims experience, as we’re eager to expand the pool of applicants eligible for simplified underwriting over time.

Top tip: We're finding that customers can access specific medical information (like blood test results, specialist letters, or histology reports) easily by accessing their online health portal. This can help to speed up the process when there's specific information the underwriter needs.
