Cancer companion complements your existing treatment plans with a holistic, evidence-based approach, giving you options to formulate a lifestyle response, access world-leading cancer specialists and be supported through one-on-one counselling.
We’re working in partnership with Osara Health and Teledoc Health to bring this to you.
How does it help?
• Cancer Coach. Helps you take control of your health and lifestyle response offering you support via a dedicated Osara Health Coach.
• Second Medical Opinion. Helps give you confidence by connecting you to world-leading cancer specialists.
• Mental Health Support. Gives care and attention to your wellbeing with one-on-one therapy sessions.
Access Cancer companion.
If you have a current distribution arrangement with Fidelity Life, and you or an immediate family member has a cancer diagnosis, you or your immediate family member who has cancer, can click the link below to enrol.
Immediate family members are defined as an adviser’s spouse or partner (including civil union and de facto relationships) living in New Zealand and the following:
• biological or adoptive parents, children or siblings
• step-parents and step-siblings, provided they have lived as part of the family unit for a predominant period of the person's life
but expressly excludes spouses, civil union partners, and de facto partners of any of the above listed family members.

Meet Vaughan.
In 2023, Vaughan was rushed to hospital with a bladder infection which turned out to be stage-4 cancer. His wife Leigh had also recently been diagnosed with throat lymphoma for the 2nd time. It was a hard year for them both.

Cancer companion is available to any adviser and their immediate family members if the adviser has a current distribution arrangement with Fidelity Life and they or an immediate family member has a cancer diagnosis.
Immediate family members are defined as an adviser’s spouse or partner (including civil union and de facto relationships) living in New Zealand, and the following:
• biological or adoptive parents, children or siblings
• step-parents and step-siblings, provided they have lived as part of the family unit for a predominant period of the person's lifebut expressly excludes spouses, civil union partners, and de facto partners of any of the above listed family members.
If you’re not sure, get in touch with your Business manager to see who is eligible.
Advisers and immediate family members who apply are required to be:
• 18+ to use the ‘Cancer Coach’ and ‘Mental Health Support’ services.
• Living in NZ to use the ‘Mental Health Support’ service. -
If you meet the eligibility criteria, there is no additional cost to participate in Cancer companion.

Osara Health will hold information of the applicant, in line with their privacy policy. All applicants will be asked to read and agree to their privacy policy as part of the enrolment process. Should the applicant wish to access the Teladoc Health services, Osara Health will share the information with them.

If you have a current distribution arrangement and either you or an immediate family member has a cancer diagnosis, follow the steps below.
1. Please click on this link to enrol or share it with your immediate family member.
2. The applicant’s name and contact information (and their connection with the adviser and the advisers details, where relevant) will be shared with Osara Health. Should you wish to access the Teladoc Health services, Osara Health will share this information with them.
3. Osara Health will contact the applicant, at a time they choose, to discuss Cancer companion in more detail. Each applicant will decide what’s right for them and where they want to start. -
