Media Release
29 January 2026
From today, eligible Fidelity Life customers who are facing financial hardship as a direct result of the recent severe weather in Whangārei, Thames Coromandel and Hauraki Districts and Bay of Plenty and Tairāwhiti regions can apply to have their premiums temporarily waived for up to 3-months, with the potential to extend for up to a further 3-months, without affecting their insurance protection.
Fidelity Life’s Chief Commercial Officer Bronwyn Kirwan says the company empathises with the challenges faced by these weather-hit communities
“We understand the significant impact the recent weather has had on these areas, and we’re committed to supporting affected customers. Our premium relief offer is designed to help reduce financial pressure and ensure customers continue to feel supported when it matters most.
“Our hope this support offers some peace of mind knowing that their insurance protection will remain in place as they work through the disruption caused by the severe weather.”
To access the relief offer Fidelity Life customers should contact their financial adviser or Fidelity Life on assistance@fidelitylife.co.nz.
